Curriculum
INTRODUCTION
Our school curriculum encompasses all we do at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Primary School. We want all our pupils to enjoy their learning to enable them to ‘enjoy and achieve’. Therefore we aim to make our curriculum engaging, investigative and relevant to our children. Our school motto, "We listen, learn and grow with Jesus", also underpins everything we do within our school’s curriculum.
At our school we aim for all our pupils to become effective learners to allow them to gain the necessary skills for learning throughout life. Therefore, pupils are taught how to become good learners. Within each class, our ‘learning clouds’ are promoted encouraging pupils to listen, ask questions, set themselves targets, persevere, manage distractions and reflect. In this way, our pupils will become lifelong learners.

Subjects
Our curriculum is split into ‘core’ and ‘foundation’ subjects in line with the National curriculum. The core subjects are English, Maths, Science, Computing and Religious Education. The foundation subjects are History, Geography, Art, Design Technology, Music and Physical Education. Our pupils also study a Modern Foreign Language in KS2.
Our pupils also study Personal, Social and Health education (known as PSHE) across the curriculum. Social, Moral, Spiritual, Vocational and Cultural education (also known as SMSVC) is also an integral part of our school’s curriculum, in line with our aim that pupils reach their full potential both academically but also in their personal development.
